Creating Colorado Gardens
Ann Skartvedt, Landscape Architect & Designer.
Ann Skartvedt:
Licensed Landscape Architect
in Colorado, Wyoming, California
I am the owner and principal landscape designer for Twin Sisters Studio. I have over 15 years’ experience designing residential gardens, from small scale plans for individual planting beds to larger scale projects with patios, decks, retaining walls, water features, and extensive planting areas.
I specialize in native and drought tolerant plants adaptable to Colorado. Using the right plant in the right place will add beauty to your home, while also reducing maintenance and water use, addressing wildfire concerns, and supporting local pollinator species. I will work closely with you to create a unique landscape plan that is personalized for your home, your style, your wishes and your budget.
“Ann has helped us with various garden projects over the last several years. She is always responsive, and we have appreciated her creative solutions to issues we have brought to her. It is always a pleasure to work with Ann. Everything looks great!”
Testimonials
“Ann was attentive and hands on during the design phase, incorporating our ideas with her experience and helping us to understand the full process. She was holistic in her approach, considering soil condition, native plants, irrigation and drainage, and fitting into the local environment. She was clear in presenting the pros and cons of various decisions. and didn’t try to sell us extra work at any point. The results were spectacular and working with Ann was great.”
“Ann transformed our yard into a beautiful garden space with varied colors and textures for every season. Most recently, she tackled a very challenging shady area of our yard and used native shrubs and flowers to turn it into a beautiful space. I have particularly admired the wisdom of her designs as I have watched her gardens mature over time.”
“We worked with Ann to update the landscaping around our home. We found her to be highly professional, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Ann to anyone contemplating some landscaping work.”
